Muslims in New Zealand Muslims in New Zealand have moved from their homelands voluntarily or as refugees in search of a better life. Although, they are represented as minority, they form part of the recent immigration that is beginning to change the face of society from Anglo-Celtic to a multi-diverse look. Many New Zealanders view Muslims as all being the same. However, to think this is wrong and they represent a wide diversity of ethnic and religious orientations. Muslims in New Zealand contribute in schools, workspace and sports field, as well as in parliament. They view this country as a land of opportunities and a place to freely and proudly practice and advertise their religion. As an Islamic organization, our vision is to provide a centre for Muslims to practice their beliefs and conduct their Islamic duties as well as contributing to the New Zealand Society by playing a positive role in forming the face of the society. |

Fatimah Zahra (as) The Prophet Muhammad (saww) said: “O Salman! Whoever loves Fatimah, my daughter, will be in Heaven with me; and whoever dislikes her, then that one will be in (Hell) Fire”. (Fara’id-us-Samtayn, vol2, p.67) Fatimah Zahra (as) A Perfect Example of Infallibility, was the only daughter of Prophet Mohammad (saw) and Lady Khadija (R.A). Holy Fatimah (SWT) is the wife of the Lion of Allah Imam Ali A.S, the mother of Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain A.S (The Chiefs of the youth of Heaven), Lady Zeinab (SWT), Lady Umme Kulsum (SWT) and Mohsin (The child who was killed by the sword of a muslim). Holy Fatimah (SWT) is also the ancestral mother of nine other Imams of the Ahlubeit. Her appellations include `Zahra' and `Sayyidatin Nisa' (Chief of the Women). Her filial appellations include `Umme Abiha' (Mother of Imam Hussain and Imam Hassan A.S) and Ummul Iima (Mother of Imams). After the death of Holy Prophet (saw), people disobeyed the will and advices of Holy Prophet (saw). They collected themselves and elected a caliph amongst them in spite of explicit announcement of Imam Ali (as) as vicegerent by Holy Prophet (saw) during his last Hajj. People came to Bibi Fatima's house to forcefully take oath from Imam Ali (as). When she denied from behind the door, people who wanted the oath pushed the door such that it fell on the Holy Lady Fatima (saw) and then crossed over the door, while the Holy Lady was below the door. The door also had a nail which pierced the Holy lady's body. The child in her womb died because of this atrocious incident. The caliph of that time snatched the land of Fadak which Holy Prophet (saw) gifted to Fatima in His life. People closed their doors on the Holy households of Prophet (saw). All such events made Bibi Fatima (saw) weaker day by day and she passed away within a year of the death of her father. |
